We like to keep our sessions open so that we can accommodate each individual and their needs. This is your time for personal exploration. Here’s a sample of a typical program:

1. Initial questionnaire

We start by asking you questions about your life, your relationships, your work life, and your goals to get a better understanding of what you hope to achieve from your session.

2. Safety protocol

Part of every session includes an overview of the safety procedures. Horses are naturally loving companions, but we do recognize the risk of working with 1,000+ lb animals.

3. Initial interactions with the horse

Clients never ride the horses, but are asked to perform small tasks with the goal of eliciting certain reactions from the horse. You may be asked to wave at the horse or slap the side of their leg with a rope. The horse’s reactions help you uncover larger questions about yourself and the way that you present yourself to others.

4. Dialogue with the horse

Use body language to create a connection with the horse. Horses are incredibly perceptive creatures. Their heightened senses allow them to pick up on non-verbal cues with unmatched accuracy. The horse becomes a mirror for your own communication habits. When the horse senses negative energy or bodily tension, they may not be as receptive as you expect them to be. When you correct your behavior, the horse becomes more comfortable and engaged as well.

5. Using the horse as a conduit for larger conversation

As this dialogue plays out, you start to draw parallels between these interactions and the common interactions you have with the people in your life. How is negative self-talk impacting

how you relate to others? How much more effective is your communication when you connect more deeply with the people you’re speaking to? When you confront these questions and adjust your body language accordingly, you can actually see an immediate change in the horse’s reactions.

There is nothing quite as exhilarating as that A-HA moment when you see that change.

6. Working towards a resolution

Take these new discoveries and discuss how to work through them in a way that’s true to you. We give you actionable steps to work towards real positive change.
